As the holidays near, it seems that the to-do lists grow longer but the days grow shorter. Finding yourself strapped for time is sometimes inevitable, especially when trying to find that perfect gift for someone special. We’ve all turned to buying gift cards when buying for that difficult-to-shop-for person on your list or the family member who has everything. Even though gift cards don’t require much thought, they can sometimes be the most appreciated gifts since the recipient can buy whatever he or she wants. This week’s DIY is a gift card holder that helps add a personal touch when giving a gift card — and it won't cost you a dime.

Materials

  • Empty toilet paper or paper towel rolls

  • Wrapping paper and ribbon scraps

  • Non-toxic craft glue or tape
