Friday Finds: Upcycled Wooden Tops

Do you ever wonder what happens to the scraps of wood that get left behind when making furniture? Sustainability focused Staach turns their waste into upcycled wooden tops, perfect for play or decoration.

A collaboration between Staach and Dwell, these wooden tops are made of the wood scraps that are leftover from the production of Staach’s furniture collection. The FSC Certified wood scraps are hand-cut and hand-finished, then dipped in a range of Staach’s environmentally friendly, water-based colored lacquers. And, it’s all done right here in the U.S.

These simple tops are an example of the Rochester, New York–based brand’s passion for sustainability, repurposing excess wood in a clever, playful way. The idea is both innovative and fun, and it’s a great example of a company being responsibly thoughtful.
