At Honest, giving back drives who we are and what we do. It is in our brand DNA and informs every piece of our business and operations, and we believe that it is our responsibility to do our part to help create a healthy and sustainable future for all.
This deep sense of purpose is passionately demonstrated in our actions and service to our families, our planet, and to our communities as we strive to create long-term value and positive social impact.
Everyday, your product purchases help support our Social Goodness work, allowing us to fund access to safe products and advances research and education that ultimately drives positive social impact we all can be proud of. Together we CAN make it better!
From the start, Honest has partnered with Baby2Baby to help provide diapers, clothing and basic necessities to low-income children across the US. We believe that providing these essentials in a time of need means empowering more families to live happy, healthy lives. That’s why we donated 1.5 million diapers to Baby2Baby for mothers and babies in need across the country in celebration of Mother’s Day!
To kick off 2017, we joined the Wayfarer Foundation for their third annual Carnival of Love — a celebration of acceptance, compassion and fun in downtown Los Angeles for the homeless individuals on Skid Row. The day included haircuts, health services, food, face painting and more. Honest provided 12,000 travel size personal care and hygiene products to assist, and volunteers guided guests through the services offered. It was an unforgettable day spent sharing inspiring messages of love.
Honest employees added one more gift to their shopping lists this holiday season, and brought toys and cheer to the kids at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Ronald McDonald House of the Inland Empire. The Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House provides resources, support and a home away from home for families with children at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. Together, we collected over 500 toys. Our Honest warehouse team took an afternoon to stop by the newly expanded Ronald McDonald House (now with 54 rooms!) to drop off the toys and restock the house with an assortment of Honest product for families spending time away from home
We think that every child should have access to safe and healthy choices, so we’re working with Head Start programs across the country to help prepare preschoolers for kindergarten. When you purchase an Honest + State backpack, we’ll give one (full of essentials!) to a child under 6 in Head Start, to ensure that they are prepared to go off to kindergarten with safe and stylish products.
To celebrate this new initiative, we hosted an official Kindergarten Readiness Event for 500 families in the Los Angeles Area. Following our kick-off event, we gave an additional 2,000 backpacks to children in Head Start programs across NJ, NY, and TX.
Honest co-founders Jessica Alba, Christopher Gavigan, Brian Lee, and Sean Kane celebrated the opening of The Honest Company Ultra Clean Room at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.
This state-of-the-art facility will measure the impact of chemicals in the environment on children’s health and will reduce the turnaround time for test results from 18 months to less than two weeks.
Honest is proud to support the work of Mount Sinai and join them in their commitment to giving children (and future parents) the chance to achieve their fullest mental, emotional and physical potential.
Honest employees teamed up with Baby2Baby for a volunteer day to remember. We unloaded a semi-truck full of donations, packed 160 gift bags for children in need, and sorted through all incoming donation bins!
In total, the Honest team hand-delivered over 47,000 Honest family products for distribution to Baby2Baby families in the community. It was a day of hard work, bonding, and community outreach that was truly touching to each person who joined in the event.
The Honest Company is a certified B Corporation! The “B” stands for benefit, which represents a new breed of businesses that harness their power and resources for public good. This designation is much like a Fair Trade or LEED certification and signals that we are committed to making a profound social difference, safeguarding people and the planet, and meeting higher standards of transparency, performance, and accountability.
This is big news for us because we are part of a diverse community of hundreds of certified organizations across the globe —including Etsy, Patagonia, and Egg—who are dedicated to one unified goal: redefining what success means in business.
Honest Company co-founders Jessica Alba and Christopher Gavigan traveled to Washington, D.C. to talk directly with Senators and the White House about the importance of passing the Safe Chemicals Act.
