Why did you choose the name "The Honest Company"?

When we were trying to think of a name for our company, we thought we should choose something that reflected our core values and highest aspirations. Something that would keep us focused on doing things right and doing things better. The Honest Company was the clear choice.

If you look up "honest" in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the words you'll find in the definition outline our beliefs and intentions. "Honest" means:
  • Free from fraud or deception, truthful – We believe in transparency and that applies to everything – from what we put into our products and how they are made to our internal operations and how we do things.
  • Genuine, real – The Honest Company was started by parents for parents. We are real tangible people, parents that understand what families need and we want to deliver on that – not some big corporation with no social consciousness that only cares about making a profit.
  • Respectable, praiseworthy – We are people with integrity and we intend on not only doing things right, but also going above and beyond to earn your respect and loyalty – making you so delighted you want to shout it from a rooftop (or tweet it from your iPhone).

How does the monthly membership work?

Once you've become a member, you automatically and oh-so-conveniently receive awesome family products on your doorstep every month. You have the freedom to customize your subscription-priced bundle based on your needs and we ship your products free for the first month* (within the contiguous United States only) and then for a small fee each month thereafter. If you order both the Diapers Bundle and the Family Essentials Bundle together on one account, shipping will be FREE (within the contiguous United States).

How much does everything cost?
A membership to our Diapers Bundle costs $79.95 per month. A membership to our Family Essentials Bundle costs $35.95 per month. The cost for both the Diapers Bundle and the Family Essentials Bundle together is $115.90 per month. We have done our absolute best to generously forecast your monthly diaper & wipes usage. Based on a ton of category research, hundreds of use cases, and insights from moms and dads just like you, we have taken into account many factors in determining the amount to include in a one-month supply of diapers. The most important of these factors being the average monthly usage of U.S. infants and children and the composition of our diaper and how well it does its job (holding your baby's business). We certainly understand that every situation is unique, so we added extra on top of the average amount in order to accommodate your child's needs as they grow and develop. If you don't have enough for a 30-day supply, you can move up the shipment date for your next month. Will the wheat in your diapers cause a reaction in my son if he has allergies and celiac disease?

Wheat is used in the diapers because it's one of the only crops currently used for biopolymers (plastics made from plants). To our knowledge, no studies have been done regarding potential impacts on people with allergies or celiac disease. We do know that plastics made from corn go through a heating process to extract the starch from the corn and it destroys the immunologically reactive profilin. But it's unclear if the same sort of "neutralization" happens when wheat is processed, but we'll explore this as best as we can. We are also eager to find non-food crops to create our biopolymers from. In the meantime, consult your family physician about whether or not you should try our diapers and how to best monitor for reactions if you do.

What is my Nursery?

After you become a member of The Honest Company, we create your very own, personalized Nursery. Your Nursery offers you the ability to select designs & sizing, modify shipping time-lines, mix new products into your Bundles, and access all the other details of your membership.

How do I update my Diaper size, styles, and ship date?

After you join, we will create a personalized Nursery you can access by logging into your account at Honest.com. Here, you will be able to update your baby's weight and diaper size, select new styles, and advance or delay next month's shipment by 5 days.

What if I don't update new diaper styles or products for next month's bundle?

If you don't update your diaper style preferences before it is time for us to process your next monthly shipment, you will receive a similar combination of the selections as you chose for the previous month's Diapers Bundle, subject to availability.

If you don't mix-and-match new products in your Family Essentials Bundle before it is time for us to process your next monthly shipment, we will ship you a similar product selection as you chose the previous month, subject to availability.

Can I choose more than one Bundle per month?

Of course! If you want more than one, you can easily order the additional bundles as you go through the check-out process. It will show up under your account and in your Nursery if you decide to use the same login/account information. You will be charged $35.95 for each additional Family Essentials Bundle or $79.95 for each additional Diapers Bundle you purchase. Shipping will be FREE when you buy both the Diapers Bundle and the Family Essentials bundle under the same account.

Can I skip a month?

We understand that not everyone wants something new every month, however, we have created a program that allows you different monthly choices in the type of products and styles you receive. Because of this ability to modify styles and mix-and-match products, we do not currently provide the ability to skip a month.

With our Diapers Bundle, we do provide the flexibility to choose new styles each month. In addition, we offer the ability to advance or delay your shipment by 5 days.

With our Family Essentials Bundle, we do provide the flexibility to mix and match entirely new products each month to delight and inspire your family. In addition, we offer the ability to advance or delay your shipment by 5 days.

We want you to be happy. Call Honest Support at 1.888.862.8818 and we will work with you to find the best solution. Maybe that means advancing or delaying your shipment. Maybe that means mixing in new products or deleting ones that are not your favorite. But regardless, our goal is to delight you and we want to make sure that happens.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order is confirmed you can easily track its status in your My Account tab by clicking on Order History in the right-side menu and selecting the order you wish to track. After your order ships, you'll receive a notification email with a tracking number, so you can check on your shipping status and know when to expect your order.

When can I expect my order to arrive?

Once your order ships from our warehouse, you will receive an email confirmation with tracking information. You can also track your order in your Order History page at Honest.com. You should expect to receive your shipment on or around the same day of each month. We recommend tracking when your order is scheduled to arrive and making any necessary arrangements to ensure your shipment is delivered successfully.

When will my card be charged?

We will charge your card when we ship your first The Honest Company order. Beginning the following month, you will be charged $79.95 or $35.95 plus shipping/handling (depending on your Bundle) every 30 days. In the event your credit card or debit card is declined when we process your charge, we will continue to attempt to process your charge during the month until the transaction is approved. If we are unable to complete your charge, Honest Support may contact you directly to update your account information.

Can I return my order?

Yes, this is covered under The Honest Guarantee. It's simple – if you are not 100% satisfied with one of our products, you can send it back for an exchange or full refund. We'll do whatever we can to right the wrong, and get your day back on track to being delightful. Because our margins are small and shipping is expensive, refunds on diapers will require a $6.95 restocking fee. We're happy to guarantee your complete satisfaction.

Return ground shipping can take 7-10 business days, depending on the shipping distance. Once your return is received and inspected by our warehouse staff (usually within 72 hours of receipt), we will process your return or exchange. If you elect to have a refund for your return, it may take an additional 2-10 business days to be posted to your credit card account, depending on your credit card company.
