Meet Honest Client Services Team Lead Amelia Gladden

What do you love most about working at Honest?

I genuinely look forward to coming into work every day. This might sound basic, but I started here at such a young age and not knowing where I really belonged. I automatically felt accepted, inspired, and motivated to make something of myself and I had the best mentors to learn from. I thrive off of our fast-paced environment in the office and the endless opportunities that are presented as we grow. We also have a plethora of groceries delivered weekly, which may or may not be of incentive to get to work early to get the good stuff!

What is your favorite product?

I can’t get enough of our cleaning products. If I had to just choose one, I would say our Toilet Cleaner takes the cake. My explanation dates back to my childhood when I’d always have to finish my chores before going out with friends, and one of those was cleaning the bathroom. I hate to say it but I would use Comet back then because that was all I knew. I would always sneeze or have to leave the room while it settled because the powder had such a strong fragrance. After my first day at Honest, I received a box with all of our products so that I could get get to know them and be able to better help our customers. It took me one use to realize that our toilet cleaner was actually the best thing ever! I thought the gel was genius because it is so much easier to use, and it naturally smells so good!

What is your most memorable Honest moment?

Oh my gosh, there are SO many different ones I could share, but I will always remember my 23rd birthday at the old Honest office. I was a rep taking customer service calls at the time, and I remember how gorgeous it was outside, I just couldn’t wait to get off that day. To my surprise, my supervisors shut down the department and led us all outside while singing happy birthday with a huge cake and candles. These days it would be hard to do the same as the department is now much larger, but that was one birthday I will never forget.

How do you embrace the Honest lifestyle at home?

Once you work at Honest, I feel like there’s no going back to your old (toxic) brands. I think that the biggest change I’ve seen is how I represent Honest when I’m not at work. I get almost too excited to introduce Honest to my family members and friends. I also hear so many amazing stories from members of how our products have changed their lives, which makes me that much more honored to work at a place like Honest. Usually people like to leave their work at the office, but I feel like I’m the opposite. We are a mission driven company and I think if it’s something you truly believe in, it’s so rewarding to talk about and get others involved with too.

If you weren't at work, what would you be doing?

I live too far from family to see them as much as I would like, but that makes for even more meaningful trips to the Bay Area and Seattle. If I’m not spending time with my family, there is always something going on in LA. You can find me near a pool or beach, attending concerts and festivals, or trying new workouts and hiking trails with friends! I also love watching football (go Seahawks!) and playing soccer or kickball in our local intramural league. Last but not least, Netflix never fails.
