Friday Finds: Chocolate (Four Favorites!)

Friday Finds: Chocolate (Four Favorites!)

Here at the Honest office it’s pretty well known that I love chocolate and Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to indulge. Not all chocolate is created equal though, so it’s really important to read your labels to find out what’s inside, how it’s sourced, and more. Below are a few of my failproof favorites when it comes to quality chocolate:

  • Vosges Haut-Chocolat: Katrina Markoff is a true pioneer and genius chocolatier, as she has been producing some of the finest, most healthful chocolate delicacies in the world. Complex flavors are blended to create thoughtful food experiences! Don’t miss the Dark Chocolate Truffles.
  • Alter Eco Chocolates: Plucked from organic trees in Peru and Ecuador, the Alter Eco cacao beans and expert processing ensure transformative flavors and options. My personal favorite is the Deep Dark Sea Salt.
  • Theo Chocolate: Seattle-based Theo has been creating organic artisan confections with a solid cocoa sourcing, blended with continual experimentation to find delicious, unexpected flavors – as well as new takes on old classics. The Coffee Caramel is a must-try.
  • Taza Chocolate: Taza takes pride in its Direct Trade sourcing program for the quality and transparency it ensures for all. They have face-to-face relationships with farmers and pay a premium above the Fair Trade price for their cacao. Their Chipotle Chili chocolate is delightfully unexpected.

Big shout outs go to Green & Black’s, Dagoba Organic Chocolates, Mast Brothers, and Mulu Chocolate — can you tell I’m passionate about chocolate yet?!
