What do you love most about working at Honest?

Working with incredibly talented and smart people. It is so rewarding to work with wonderful people that have a clear sense of purpose and shared vision for the work they do everyday. I have worked with wonderful and talented people in the past, but not at an organization where EVERYONE is so dedicated and hard working.

What is your favorite product?

It is hard to have just one favorite Honest product since most of them service completely different purposes. However, forced to choose, the Laundry Detergent is a stand out product for me. Having totally safe laundry detergent that is not going to irritate my skin is very important because I always have clothing and bedding against my skin and there are remnants of the detergent left in the fabric. It is great to know with Honest it is not harmful.

What is your most memorable Honest moment?

I have many wonderful memories of my time at Honest, truly this is a difficult task to single one out. I remember a pinata being busted open with a head-butt, and a planking competition that lasted over 13 minutes. It was amazing to watch two employees push themselves to reach their personal potential (I told you Honest employees were dedicated). But standing in the first Client Service office space (a little closest of a room with no windows and crammed with seven desks) and hearing the phone ring at 7:00 am on Jan. 17, 2012 with the first customer calling in and knowing something special was just beginning... that was a special moment I will not forget.

How do you embrace the Honest lifestyle at home?

My wife and I like to live fairly simply in our home. We try to be intentional about our purchases and often ask ourselves, "Do we need the product at all?" We like to reduce the impact we have on the environment. We steer away from restaurants that use Styrofoam, we do not purchase bottled water, and we stop the clerks before they drop our purchases into anything other than our reusable bag.

If you weren't at work, what would you be doing?

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with family and being outdoors (if I can do both simultaneously it is a bonus). My parents, four of my eight siblings (and seven nieces and nephews), and my in-laws live in the LA area so we enjoy getting together with them as often as we can. When outdoors I like to run on the beach or take my road bike for a spin. I enjoy short rides or long weekend rides down to San Diego with a night of camping along the beach in Dana Point.
