Meet Honest Digital Media Associate Manny Martinez

What do you love most about working at Honest?

I cannot say it enough... THE PEOPLE! Throughout my time here, I have gained friends, mentors and even people I’d consider family. This is also a very creative and intelligent group of people that push you to improve and be better every day.

What is your favorite product?

The Honest City Backpack, in black — I wear it every day. Whether it's carrying my laptop to work or keeping my snacks cold on a full day trek up to Half Dome, there is no need to compromise versatility, effectiveness or looks.

What is your most memorable Honest moment?

After 3 ½ years at Honest, it's really hard to choose just one moment — from showing up to my interview at our first office and thinking I was lost because the entrance was in an alley to Halloween, which is taken VERY seriously here. But if I must choose one, it would be spontaneously booking a flight to Austin, Texas with 7 other co-workers, and celebrating the 4th of July with our friends from the Texas office.

How do you embrace the Honest lifestyle at home?

Growing up, I always had skin allergies. I treated the symptoms but I never considered what might be causing them. After starting at Honest, it was hard not to become more cognizant of what I put on and in my body. From what you eat, to the lotion you put on your face every morning, it all has impact. I began eating better and became more aware of what was in the products I use on a daily basis, which has actually helped me immensely.    

If you weren't at work, what would you be doing?

The first thing that comes to mind is food. I enjoy finding new places to eat and ordering things on the menu that I've never had before. This strategy usually pays off, but there have been some absolute disasters. When I'm not searching for new places to eat, I am spending time outdoors, playing some type of sport. Sometimes, I just want to slow down, and will get sucked into binge watching a new show! Any recommendations?
