Eagle pose
Garudasana
Level 1
Benefits: Eagle pose requires sharp focus and concentrated breath to attain. Once in the pose, it will stretch your thighs, hips, shoulders, and upper back, while strengthening and stretching your calves and ankles.
Honest Tip: If it seems impossible to hook the lifted leg around the standing ankle, place the lifted leg foot on the floor for balance. Then squeeze your thighs together, pull your root lock up and in, engage your core, find a focal point in front of you that is not moving and then try to revisit the foot bind.
Now go pause, pose, and find peace! If you have the time, check out some of our other favorite moves.
