Pause & Pose: Fierce Pose

Pause & Pose: Fierce Pose

The fierce pose is exactly as it sounds — a powerful pose, that stretches and strengthens your calf muscles while opening your chest and shoulders. Try it out on the beach (like Honest yogi Jessie James), practice it at the park, or stretch it out right at home.  Adding this pose to your yoga routine will help build stability in your core.

Multi-level

Benefits: Fierce pose is a challenging multilevel pose that builds strength in your quads, core, and upper back. This dynamic pose challenges the beginner as well as the advanced practitioner. This pose can be confronting because we store anger in our quads and fierce pose draws that anger out. The good news is, it is a straight forward, reliable pose that does beautiful things to your legs.

Honest Tip: To protect your knees be sure that your weight is in your heels. When you explore heel weight alignment you will notice how much you need to use your core! Sit deep, engage your core, slide your shoulder blades down your back and breathe deep while you build strength.

Now go pause, pose, and find peace!
