Pause & Pose: High Lunge

Pause & Pose: High Lunge

It's Friday and we're stretching it out with our dear friend (and yogi) Jessica James. High lunge is a beginner pose that will help open up your hips and lower back. It's a good one to do if you've been sitting for a long period of time and are in need of a deep, satisfying stretch.

High Lunge

Crescent Variation

Level 1

Benefits: This variation helps strengthen your arms, legs, and glutes, while stretching your groin. This pose can help with indigestion and is a great for building strength and awareness of your root lock.

Honest Tip: This pose can be an excellent prep pose to understanding what to do with your hips in Crescent pose. When you are in the lunge, scissor your legs together and make sure that the hip of your back leg is lifted. You will feel a huge difference when you keep your hips square -- when you let your hip drop, you lose the work and the benefits of this pose.

Now go pause, pose, and find peace.
