Mermaid pose is a pigeon pose with an added backbend! It stretches your hips, groin, and inner thighs while opening and expanding your whole front body.

Honest Tip:

If this pose is just out of reach use a strap and loop it around your back foot. If you feel wobbly use a bolster or a blanket under the hip of your front leg. There is a lot going on in this pose; you are stretching your hips and balancing over your midline while opening your heart and chest. Remember to keep your low belly engaged and your breath long and fluid.
