#GivingTuesday: Get Social, Give Health!

When it comes to giving back, every day at The Honest Company is an opportunity to think about how we contribute to the communities we share and empower those that work towards a safer, healthier, and more sustainable future for all. With your support, we’ve already given over 2,300 employee volunteer hours, more than 588,000 products and helped nearly 58,000 families to date!  Because we couldn’t have done it without you, we’re excited to have #GivingTuesday to let you know that this season we’re giving a gift that gives —and you can help.

This December, we’re honored to begin our partnership with FoodCorps to cook up lasting change in schools and grow a generation of healthier children. With 32 million children a day being fed and educated about food in more than 100,000 public schools, we know that education and early learning environments lay the groundwork for a lifetime of eating habits. Exposing children across the United States to natural food sources and sharing the nutritional benefits of fresh food is important to their growth and development.  That’s why we’re working with FoodCorps, a nationwide team of AmeriCorps leaders, to give young children an enduring relationship with real food to lead longer, more productive lives.

On behalf of Honest families everywhere, The Honest Company is investing $125,000 in FoodCorps to support a range of programs in under-resourced schools and early learning environments. Here’s a look at what our investment will mean to children who need it the most:

But we can do more. In honor of #GivingTuesday, we’re amplifying our efforts to give back and we need your help! Check us out on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Google+, take social action with our #GivingTuesday post and use the #honestgoodness: Every time you do, you contribute $1 to FoodCorps initiatives that create change to last a child’s lifetime--we’ll be contributing up to $24,000 to help educate 1,000 more children! To give you an example of how easy it is to help, just do the math:

$1 (Facebook like, share, or comment) + $1 (Twitter favorite or retweet) = 1 month of nutritional education for 1 child

The numbers don’t lie: This is a great opportunity to make a difference today that will last for a lifetime!
