Honest Takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Honest Takes on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Yesterday our friends at Babble challenged us to cool down for a good cause and we happily accepted! If you’ve been anywhere near the Internet recently, you’ve likely seen everyday people, big-time celebrities, and well-known companies pick up a bucketful of ice to take down the progressive neurodegenerative disease called ALS, or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease.”

As the breakdown of nerve cells in Gehrig’s brain and spinal cord forced him to end his incredible baseball career, the beloved first baseman famously told a sold-out Yankee Stadium crowd that he was “the luckiest man on the face of the Earth” for all the support he’d been shown. With the ice bucket challenge, it’s clear that no stadium can hold all the people who want to help stop ALS by funding research in hope of finding a cure. In the past two weeks alone, the ALS Association has seen a 6,000% increase in donations from the previous year—that’s not just a drop in the bucket!

Here at Honest, we think that that every little bit helps in addressing even the biggest concerns. Honest will proudly donate $100 for each employee that participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Check out the video below and watch one freezing moment go a long way for fundraising:

Of course, part of the challenge is nominating others to complete the same task in 24 hours: Bring on the buckets for our friends at Pressed Juicery, Naturebox, and TOMS! Since we have a weekend coming up, we’ll give you until Monday to make your own splash for ALS.

We’re going to go towel off now, but you should click here if you’d like to make your own donation to the ALS Association. Don’t forget to keep the awareness going with #ALSIceBucketChallenge on social media.
